At the beach

Ben and I took a stroll on the Beach this weekend in Santa Monica.  We realized that we really don't need a "babymoon" because all we have to do is drive 10 minutes to the beach and we can create our own little mini vacation.

Ben spent much of Saturday afternoon rearranging our furniture so that we could create a baby room.  We will still have our dressers in the baby room, but we've made space for a crib and I think it will be very nice.

On Sunday, we had crazy bad rainy weather and Ben and I decided to tackle a fun arts and crafts project.  We bought some fun frames and then I took out my art supplies to make pictures for the baby room.  Ben only spent about 15 minutes on this activity, but what he made was wonderful. He describes it as 3 smiles all connected together:

My drawing was inspired by a little stone turtle that we have.  It's very abstract, but I used colors that I'd like to use for the baby room.  Orange, pink, green, and yellow.

  1. I'm picking up a theme here--very colorful and mostly abstract. "Childish" in the best sense of the word. Sort of like if Salvador Dali illustrated children's books. I'll be seeing you, and the artwork, very soon.
